Oba Curse Politicians

Having already sent a private letter to the Oba without a reply I think it necessary to write an Open Letter. Some may question the respect of an unknown writer sending a letter to the Oba of Benin- a whole Oba! Some may ask "this boy you no dèy fear?" Well, I dèy fear. Infact, na that fear make me dèy send this letter sef. Besides, I know that in Britain people send letters to Queen Elizabeth everyday.

If you love Nigeria like I do then surely you are not happy with the state of affairs. As we siddon dèy look Governors and Senators are looting the country blind. Everyday, Ghana-must-go bags loaded with Naira are escaping this country to overseas banks so that these thief-thief politicians and their lazy families can enjoy luxury, while the rest of us suffer from hunger and mosquito bites.

So wetin I want Oba to do?

I want the Oba to gather his Chiefs, bring out his most terrible juju and swear an incurable curse on thieving politicians. Simple!

I know that Oba is not police or EFCC, and that it really is not his job to fight corruption. But I remember in 2010 when he gathered his Chiefs and cursed kidnappers. Fighting kidnappers is the job of the police, abi? So if the Oba could come out and curse young men doing their legitimate business, surely, he can help us fight corruption which is our common enemy!

Besides, if the Oba  can do this the whole world will know that he is not among those traditional rulers who go about begging for alms from politicians.
