[APC/PDP and Obasanjo] Obasanjo threatens to quit P-D-P

Former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo continued to make headlines in the oil rich west African country this week. This after the elderly statesman dropped a bombshell on the ruling People's Democratic Party (PDP). He wrote a letter threatening to quit the party.

He has accused the PDP of negating principles of morality, decency and discipline.

Paper stands were a hive of activity this week as locals were buying their favourite newspapers in droves in order to read all about a damning letter that Obasanjo wrote to his party. In the letter Obasanjo takes a swipe at his party.

He says he would temporarily cease to be a member of the party or participate in any political activity demanding the party to dissociate itself with a particular businessman.

There have been rumblings on the Nigerian political scene, especially since five PDP governors defected to the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC). Sabc News
