Gunmen kidnap Kogi LG chair’s wife, baby, demand N50m

 
Gunmen on Monday kidnapped the wife and two-year-old child of the Chairman of Adavi Local Government Area of Kogi State, Mr. Salihu Adaviruku.

Our correspondent gathered that the gunmen had laid in wait at Adaviruku’s residence at Kuroko, Adavi LG.

The LG boss, oblivious of the seige, had driven into his compound only to be accosted at the main gate by the gunmen.

They bandits were said to have commandeered Adaviruku into his house and demanded N50m from the LG Chairman.

It was also gathered that the gunmen were enraged when the LG boss told them that he did not have the demanded money.

The strangers consequently abducted Adaviruku’s wife, Hasiya, and their two years old baby.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Kogi State Command, Mr. Timpa Rendegha, confirmed the incident to journalists.
