Awka, the Anambra State capital, would witness the mother of all rallies next week when a group, under the umbrella of Nigeria Mandate for Jonathan 2015, holds a 5-million-man march to urge President Goodluck Jonathan to run for the 2015 presidential election.

The group, led by its coordinator, Chief Kingsley Nwafor, has already mobilized the 21 local government areas in the state, including the Non-Indigenes Association made up of all the ethnic groups, and people from the four states of the South East zone in Anambra, for the march.

Nwafor told reporters in Awka: “What we are doing is to compel President Goodluck Jonathan to go for the second term as president of Nigeria. For us in Anambra State and Igbo of the South-East zone, his administration has been the best for us. You are aware of the Akanu Ibiam International Airport in Enugu, which has reduced the risks of our people traveling to Lagos and Abuja to take international flights.

“You are also aware of the second Niger Bridge that is ongoing, which would also reduce the pressure on the old Niger Bridge as well as avert possible accident on our major highways. http://atlantablackstar.com/2014/02/08/five-million-men-march-re-elect-nigerian-president-goodluck-2015/

“Even in key appointments at the federal level, our people have been adequately represented in the while federal road projects in our areas have received attention. So that is why we, in Anambra State, are supporting President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan for 2015.”
