Policeman inflicts injuries on wife with Machetes Over Missing N70,000

For her inability to explain how N70,000 got missing in their home, a  policeman in Lagos, Michael Okoli has allegedly inflicted injuries on his wife with a machete.
LEADERSHIP learnt that the incident happened at their home at No 4, Abukareem Close, Afromedia Estate, Lagos.
It was gathered that the victim, Mrs. Felicia Okoli is in a critical condition at the Gbagada General Hospital after she was rejected by many hospitals she was taken to for treatment while her husband who has been arrested by the police at Okokomaiko Division said he was angry after he did not find the N70,000 he kept aside for house rent.
Okoli said he kept the N70,000 at home before he went to work and when he returned and checked where he kept it, it was no longer there and his wife was rude to him when he asked her about the missing money and he took a sharp cutlass in anger and attacked her with it.
He said he was infuriated when Felicia turned the whole matter to a comedy by asking him whether he was sure he kept any money at home at all, adding that his wife reportedly claimed that he had no money.
The spy policeman, said to be an elder in the Celestial Church of Christ at Afromedia, added that the devil pushed him to carry out the dastardly act.
When LEADERSHIP visited their home, the couple’s neighbours said it was not the first time Okoli was attacking his wife of 18 years, who bore four children, two boys and two girls for him, with cutlass.
He was said to have cut off one of Felicia’s fingers during one of their quarrels, before the latest incident.
A source at the police station said Okoli would be charged with attempted murder after the matter has been transferred to the SCID, Panti, Yaba for further investigation.
