Lagos New Landlords: 35 new winners get HOMS slots
« on: April 08, 2014, 01:05:00 AM »
The Governor of Lagos State; Babatunde Fashola on Friday said that the success of the Lagos Homes Ownership Scheme, HOMS, has demonstrated that home ownership is possible in Nigeria.

The governor disclosed this after the second draw for HOMS that took place at the BlueRoof Hall, LTV 8, Agidingbi, Ikeja produced another set of 35 successful allottees.

Fashola however said that achieving this requires constant update of records of all financial transactions, payment of taxes while citizens must step up now to a more orderly sense of government, a more orderly way and process of homeownership and property acquisition. The Governor urged the winners who have seen the process, transparency and efficiency of the scheme to become ambassadors for the scheme by going out to tell other people to do what they have done.

He explained that a prospective allotee does not need to know anyone but just needs to engage with the website of the Lagos HOMS scheme, apply, show necessary records and hopefully become a winner at the next draw.
