Facebook launches Anonymous Logins for Users

After receiving complaints from users who have been hesistant to log in to the social media service using third-party Apps, Facebook announced today that it is introducing Anonymous Login, a way in which people can keep their information private.

“We need to do everything we can to put people first and give people the tools they need to sign in and trust your apps,” Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook’s co-founder, told software developers in San Francisco today, according to the New York Times.

Facebook explained the new development on its site:
Sometimes people want to try out apps, but they're not ready to share any information about themselves. For this, we're introducing a way to log in to apps anonymously.

Anonymous Login lets people log in to apps so they don't have to remember usernames and passwords, but it doesn't share personal information from Facebook. People can decide later if they want to share any additional information, once they understand more about the app.
