Fire Guts 50 Shops in Abule-Egba Sawmill, Lagos

No fewer than fifty shops containing planks and building materials were consumed by fire on Monday at the Abule-Egba sawmill, Lagos.

The Director, State Fire Service, Rasaq Fadipe, in a text message to Daily Times said, "the serious outbreak of fire involved a sawmill at Abule-Egba, Awori U-turn bus stop and consumed about 50 shops containing planks and building materials in a row of 3. Two vehicles and cutting machines were affected."

However, he said, fire trucks from Agege, Ikotun and Ikeja were on ground to douse the fire.
