Over 8,000 delegates are expected to storm Lagos, Nigeria’s commercial nerve centre, for the national convention of the All Progressive Congress, scheduled to hold on December 10 and 11, 2014.

The delegates, who are to converge on the Teslim Balogun Stadium, will elect the party’s presidential flag bearer who will face President Goodluck Jonathan in the 2015 election.

Chairman of the convention planning committee and immediate past governor of Ekiti State, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, said this at a press briefing in Abuja, on Wednesday.

Five aspirants have been cleared by the Ogbonnaya Onu-led presidential screening committee to contest in the primaries.

They are: Former Head of State, Gen. Mohammadu Buhari, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, incumbent Kano State governor, Rabiu Kwankwaso and his Imo State counterpart, Owelle Rochas Okorocha, and the publisher of Leadership Newspaper, Sam Nda-Isaiah.
