The principal suspect behind the continued high profile kidnapping in Delta State has been identified as a doctorate degree holder (Ph.D) in Mechanical engineering. Delta state commissioner of police,

Mr Ikechukwu Aduba, confirmed this in an interview in Asaba. He explained that the master minder, whose name was withheld, hails from Kokori area in Ethiope Local Government Area of the state.

Mr. Aduba said that the criminal had become a problem, as he masterminded most of the high profile kidnapping cases in the state.
In his statement, he revealed that over 300 kidnappers and robbers had either been arrested or killed in the state in the past eight months.

In his words, some of the suspected kidnappers were acquitted because victims refused to testify in court.

He added that, controversies over occupier of traditional seats in some communities in the area also affected the fight against crimes in the state, adding that “the police need information and we expect the traditional rulers to cooperate with us.
