At N100,000 is Blackberry Z10 for the Nigerian Market ?

Looking at the price, the pre-order cost of the Z10 was N100,000. That’s not cheap for the average Nigerian. However, considering the fact that several Nigerians can shell out money for tablets that go for between N80,000 to over N100,000, would we now call the Z10 affordable?

There have been advancements in battery manufacturing lately. The Z10 battery has a specification of  1800mAh. So with the usual chatting, browsing and music we listen to, one should find that the battery life is better than that of earlier BB phones. However, there is room for improvement generally when it comes to battery performance among smartphones in general.

The Drop test: this is what we loved 3310 for. It hardly got damaged when dropped. As someone once put it, they are “righteous” phones that fall seven times and rise up again. The drop test conducted on Z10 by Mashable’s  Lance Ulanloff revealed that it is tough, surviving falls on rugged and indoor floors, but it’s not indestructible. Dropping the phone on concrete from a calling can damage it.

Now this is interesting; for a phone in its class, the manufacturers gave Z10 a user-replaceable battery, this is unlike the iphone and tablets. That means, you can open the phone and pull out the battery. This implies that if the phone happens to fall into water or any liquid, you can open it up, remove the battery and leave them all to dry, (It’s been said that placing a phone in raw rice absorbs moisture from the phone faster than in open air) preventing damage due to short-circuiting.

This user-replaceable feature is a clear edge which Z10 has over its peers, giving it the likelihood of a longer life span.

Okay back to the Question, is it a fone for the Nigerian Market....Well for some other reasons it is

Nigeria can boast of being in the top 7 blackberry country users on the world so yes, it will sell
Nigerians have money to waist so yes, we will buy
There is still love for BB here so we will move with Europe and claim the Tech available...
