Here is the New Compact GLA SUV from Mercedes-Benz

Photos of the new compact SUV from Mercedes-Benz were leaked today thanks to some over-eager car aficionados in Asia. The good thing for us is that now we’ll all have an early look at the 208-horsepower, seven-speed automatic rig that will hit production late next year.

The new Concept GLA premium compact SUV comes with a four-cylinder turbocharged gasoline engine and all-wheel-drive. Mercedes is also vaunting a unique headlamp configuration with laser lights that shine brighter and that also function as projectors. It will debut officially April 21-29 at the Shanghai Auto Show.

Joachim Schmidt, the executive vice president of Mercedes-Benz for sales and marketing, said the new SUV will feel much more like a coupe than its larger siblings.

“It also makes clear the further potential of our compact vehicle architecture, which provides the basis for the A- and B-Class models that led the German market in their respective segments in the first quarter of 2013,” he said
