The Osun State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has called on the state governor, Mr Rauf Aregbesola, to disclose how much he has borrowed in the last three years, even as the party vowed that it would soon take a legal action against Aregbesola and the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) over the series of loans obtained by the Aregbesola government without concrete impact on the state.

Chairman of the PDP in Osun State, Alhaji Ganiyu Olaoluwa, who stated this in a statement, said he raised the alarm in an interview about two weeks ago that the governor was planning to apply for a $50 million loan from the Islamic Bank but the governor denied only for his Special Adviser on Water Rehabilitation to tell the world during a press conference that Aregbesola had applied for a $50million  loan from the Islamic bank.

“Who is fooling who? It is absurd that Mr Aregbesola would be fooling the whole populace of Osun State about the huge debts his government has amassed through loans,” he said.

Alhaji Olaoluwa challenged the governor to come out openly and tell the people of the state how much he had borrowed and the projects that he had executed with them and the ones that were to be commissioned? - Tribune
