Kidnappers have released the wife and daughter of Supreme Court Justice, Adedoyin Rhodes-Vivour after over two weeks in captivity. The victims were dropped off by the gang somewhere in Benin.

“From facts available to us, the victims were not freed by the police or security agencies. The kidnappers were tired of holding them after collecting some ransom. Do not forget that the Supreme Court had opted for unorthodox method to rescue the victims."

Asked of the whereabouts of the victims, the source said “They have reunited with their family in Lagos.”

There is a strong suspicion that the Justice family was released after payment of ransom. But no one knows how much exactly was paid to the kidnappers, who had demanded N200 million.

The women and their driver were abducted on the 10th May, 2013, while enroute to Benin, Edo State, for a wedding. The sad incident affected the traditional engagement of the daughter which was supposed to have occurred on May 18th.

No official reaction from the Nigeria Police as at the time of posting.
