Twelve hours after being held at the Malam Aminu Kano International Airport over alleged illegal entry, airport authorities have  released impounded Ukrainian cargo plane .

The cargo plane with nine crew members was  early Sunday seized and taken over by the military and operatives of the Directorate of State Services.

However, relevant agencies connected with the seizure are still keeping sealed lips, as effort to contact the JTF spokesman, Capt Ikediche Iweha and the Police RelationsOfficer of the airport,  Mr. Shawai proved abortive as they could not be reached on phone.

But a source close to the airport told Vanguard that; “What we heard is that nothing incriminating was found on the plane. They said the plane was conveying unnamed military hardware to DRC but the concern  that led to the deployment of military was designed to ensured that none of the hardware found its way into the country”.
