Man Arraigned For Forging land papers

A 43-year-old man, Gbenga Odusiga, has been arraigned before an Abuja Magistrate Court sitting in Life Camp for alleged forgery and breach of trust.

The police prosecutor, Sgt. Philips Apollos, told the court that the matter was reported at Life Camp police station by one Alhaji Tijjani Musa of No.22 Igban Street, Jabi, Abuja.

He said that the plaintiff entrusted his land certificate to one Alhaji Sidi in 2011, and he in turn gave the said land certificate to the accused for sale in which the accused dishonestly forged power of authority and sold the land to one Solanke now at large, and he allegly converted the money to his own personal use.

Apollos said the offence contravenes the provisions of sections 312 and 363 of the penal code law.

The Chief Magistrate, Mrs Fati Tafida, granted the accused bail in the sum of N50,000 and one surety in like sum, who must be a civil servant of grade level 12 and must be resident within the jurisdiction of the court. The case was adjourned to the 24th of June for further hearing.
