Nursing mother Stabs Co-Wife to death

A 32-year-old nursing mother, Idowu Funmilola, has been arraigned before an Ilorin Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stabbing her co-wife, Mrs Idowu Abayomi.

The accused was alleged to have stabbed the victim severally on her body, with knife during a fight on July 7, at Gaa-Akanbi area of Ilorin.

The complainant said the accused had charmed their husband, causing him to abandon her in her apartment in the same address.

“I went to see our husband in his apartment where the two of them stay to ask him why he had abandoned me and our two kids. Our husband had not responded before she started insulting me. This led to a fight between us and she ran inside to pick a knife which she used to stab me all over the body,’’ the complainant said.

The police prosecutor, Sgt. Al-hassan Jubril, told the court that investigation was ongoing and asked for an adjournment to conclude the investigation.

Magistrate Ibijoke Olawoyin, in her ruling, released the accused on bail in the sum of N20, 000 and two sureties in like sum

The case was adjourned to July 24 for continuation of hearing.
