I call her my Friend but i think i am in Love with Her, Should I tell Her?

Alright..

So this is about a female friend I've known for about 3+ years now. We met through our mutual friends and slowly became close over time. When I met her, she was dealing with this guy she had known for 2 years before into our friendship started going out with him but for the past 2 years now, the both of us have been single.

I obviously have feelings for her.

But the thought of telling her how I feel just drains me. I've had some real bad luck with women in the past and I just don't have that confidence to get out there and make it happen anymore. I just remain passive and in a comfort zone.

To add to this, I consider her my closest female friend.

She recently confiding in me saying .."what would I do without you."

I don't know..my feelings have really hit me like a ton of bricks since she came back here for a vacation.

Should I even ask? I feel like she kind of likes me but we've been friends for so long..there's too much at stake. Do I even stand a chance? Does any of this mean anything? I need someone to slap me in the face and wake me up..or tell me what's happening from an outside perspective

I have been in that shoe ones and i would have said dont tell cos you might loose her which i did but i will tell you to tell her cos at the end you are free.
