Kidnappers Of 90-yr-old Man Demand N30m Ransom

Barely 48 hours after Alhaji Musa Adisa was kidnapped, the abductors have contacted his family, demanding   N30million for his release.

The son of the victim, Alhaji Musbau Iyiola, made this known to LEADERSHIP yesterday in Akure.
The 90-year-old man was abducted by three armed men early on Tuesday morning on his way to the mosque to observe his morning prayer.

Iyiola, who is the president of the state Master Bakers Association of Nigeria (MBAN), said the kidnappers called him on telephone to open a negotiation, but said that in their last conversation, both parties could not reach an agreement.

He explained: “They called me and demanded a sum N30million. Where would I get that amount fro? I told them to collect N500,000, that is what I can afford, but they said no. So they ended the conversation.”

He, however, appealed to the state police command to assist the family by intensifying efforts to secure the release of his father, whom he said had been sick for sometime now due to old age.

In his reaction, the State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Wole Ogodo, said the command was already on the search for the elderly man.
