Topic: Taking Police Pictures might land you in Jail: Ask Abraham Oshoko ?  (Read 1790 times)

A 33 year old man, Abraham Oshoko has been charged for taking 'offensive' photographs of police and LASTMA performing their 'legal duties'.

According to the prosecutor, Barth Nwaokenye, Oshoko took the picture without authorisation in order to tarnish the image of the organisations.

Nwaokenye said that the offences contravened Sections 57 (4) and 166 (d) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2011.

If found guilty, Oshoko faces the possibility of 6 months in jail or N90,000 fine.

His bail was set at N25,000 and hearing has been adjourned to October 16. Civilians have taken to taking pictures or recording videos of corrupt policemen in order to expose them. NigeriaBulletin
