MTN Nigeria gives 25 Hilux patrol vans to Lagos for Security

Telecommunications giant, MTN Nigeria has presented 25 Hilux patrol vans to the Lagos State Government to aid the fight against crime and secure lives and properties in the state.

Making the presentation of the vans at the Lagos House, Alausa, MTN`s Chief Executive Officer, Mr Michael Ikpoki, said the donation was part of the company`s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) to support security and development in the state.

According to him, “We have been part of the Lagos State Security Trust Fund, we have consistently contributed to it and what we are donating today is line with our continued support for the fund.

“We recognise that development can only be achieved in an atmosphere of peace, and I just want to assure the state government on behalf of MTN that we will continue to support you in that regard”.

Ikpoki added that state was MTN’s key partner in progress, stating that the company had also partnered the government in the development of education, sports and other key sectors.

Stressing that the company would strive to strengthen the mutually beneficial relationship between it and the state, the CEO thanked the state government for providing the right environment for businesses to thrive.

Receiving the vans on behalf of the State Government, Governor Babatunde Fashola commended the company for the donation, saying it would go a long way in helping to promote the security of lives and properties in the state.

Fashola was joined by some members of the State Executive Council, Executive Secretary of Lagos State Security Fund (LSSTF), Mr Fola Arthur- Worrey and other members of staff to receive the vans. source: WorldStage
