If you are a student of LASU, they don release Bursary Money o!!!

As part of efforts to cushion financial burden of students in the state, Lagos State Government has paid the sum of N95 million as bursary awards to students of the Lagos State University.

The Lagos State Deputy Governor, Mrs. Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire who revealed this while declaring open presentation of 2013 bursary awards to the state indigenes in LASU reiterated the commitment of the Lagos State Government to the provision of quality education.

She added that the bursary is designed to reduce the students’ financial burden to the barest minimum.

Adefulire said a total of one thousand and eighty-four students from 2011/2012 set of Lagos State indigene in Lagos State University as well as One Hundred and Forty students of Law School and Twenty One Maritime Academy students making a total of One Thousand Two Hundred and Forty Six indigenes will be given the bursary.

 “The awards range between N50, 000.00 to N80, 000.00 to Lagos State University students (2011/2012 set) to cushion the effect of the increase in their tuition fees while Law School and Maritime Academy Students will receive Two Hundred Thousand Naira (N200, 000) bursary each,”  she added.

The Deputy Governor, who was represented by Lagos State Commissioner for Special Duties, Dr. Wale Ahmed said the Lagos State Government has recognized education both as a necessity and investment everybody must embrace with the seriousness it deserves.

She added that the provision of quality education is capital intensive, imploring individual and corporate organizations to support the present State administration’s initiative on the need for Public Private Partnership in the education sector.
