DANA - 132 Bodies Ready for Collection - Lagos Govt

Lagos State Commissioner for Health Dr. Jide Idris says the state government will soon release another 132 identifiable bodies to relatives of the victims of the Dana plane crash.

Idris said at a meeting with the relatives of the victims at Lagos State University Teaching Hospital yesterday that the bodies would be released in batches and in alphabetical order to authorized claimants

He said names of the victims that have been identified will be pasted at the Lekan Ogunshola Memorial morgue and relatives should come with appropriate documents to claim the bodies.

"We are going to be releasing another 132 bodies that have been identified today (yesterday). We have gotten some of the results of the DNA analysis from the United Kingdom. The experts have revealed the results and we felt it necessary to brief the victims on the processes and documentation needed to claim the bodies" he said.

Chief Pathologist of the hospital Prof. John Obafunwa confirmed that 132 bodies had been identified while 16 were still being processed.
