Pray for NIGERIA - Bishop Francis Wale Oke

AT this critical point, no human brilliance or solution can safe the country from current the problems it has found itself, only prayer can.

This was the position of the presiding bishop, Sword of the Spirit Ministries, Bishop Francis Wale Oke, while addressing a press conference on the forthcoming Ibadan Great Grace and Power Crusade, at the Light House of the Sword of the Spirit Ministries, on Tuesday.

He said: “Nigeria is at crossroad. There has never been a time in the history of Nigeria that blood has been shed as now. We need divine healing and prayer, reason people of God have come together to pray for this country for five days.

“No politician has solution to Nigeria’s problem; we need God at this juncture. The president should declare a day of fasting and prayer for all Nigerians to tackle the problem once and for, all because there is no problem prayer cannot solve, as it is now established that no human effort can solve the problem of Boko Haram.

“Nigeria has never been so overwhelmed with challenges like this — challenges of insecurity, corruption, workers’ strike, especially the ongoing strike by Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), among others and if we think human efforts can see us through, we are only deceiving ourselves,” the cleric said.

On the national confab instituted by President Goodluck Jonathan during his national broadcast on the last independence day anniversary, Bishop Oke described it as a welcome development and charged all Nigerians to ensure its success, not minding what it would cost them.

He equally charged President Jonathan to be futuristic about the conference, stressing that it should be devoid of partisan politics, as everybody should be there to speak up his or her mind.
