Boko Haram Insurgents Kill 10, Raze Buildings in Konduga LGA, Borno

GUNMEN, suspected to be Boko Haram terrorists, yesterday morning, invaded villages in Kawuri district and Fori of Konduga Local Government Area of Borno State, killing 10 residents, including three vigilante youths, suspected to be Civilian JTF.

This is coming 24 hours after the insurgents' attack on Logomani village in Dikwa Local Government Area of the state left 20 dead and 10 injured.

Kawuri District is one of the big villages in Konduga, along Maiduguri-Bama Expressway, which is about 60 kilometres from Maiduguri.

The district is 20 kilometres from Bama Local Government Area, which had witnessed series of attacks and killings of civilians, soldiers, policemen and prison warders.

A female passenger, who gave her name as Madam Hauwa Musa, said that she was among the early passengers from Mubi town to Maiduguri after the attack in Kawuri villages.

She said: "I was among the passengers that boarded a taxi from Mubi to Maiduguri. In the villages along the main road, we saw some burnt buildings.

"There were security operatives and men of the vigilante youth, popularly called Civilian JTF, in the village. The attackers had fled into the bushes."
