Topic: Suicide Bombers Kill Eleven including policemen in Maiduguri, Borno  (Read 2116 times)

There have been two explosions in Maiduguri on Tuesday, killing 11 people, including 5 policemen, according to the reports the latter were the targets.

According to the report of state police spokesman, Gideon Jibrin as he spoke to the AFP, one car exploded at 7:50 am, local time, killing 3 civilians. A bomb hurled police vehicle 10 minutes later, killing 5 officers and 3 another men, who are yet to be determined as civilians or Boko Haram insurgents.

According to Vanguard, the attackers in Volkswagen Golf cars rammed into the patrol car of Maiduguri police. This resulted in death of 5 policemen, 3 civilians and the lives of terrorists themselves.

Immediately after the blast, 7 Division men of Nigerian Army, mobile policemen and vigilante youths - Civilian JTF have mobilized to the scene of the attack and cordoned off the area to prevent any further attacks.

The bombers are believed to be members of Boko Haram. They struck at Dalori quarter along the Bama road, 2 km to Maiduguri, Borno State, northeastern Nigeria.
