Transfer deadline day: 5 deals that are likely to happen

If your heart cannot handle it, it is better you stay off the Internet today. The busiest 24 hours in this summer’s transfer window is here. There will be a big scramble for signatures all across Europe. Managers, club executive, agents, players will be on the phone all through the day and there will be quick dashes to and from the airports.

There will also be failed transfers. Those deals that could not be sealed before 11pm, when the window closes. There will also be shock moves – those transfers no one saw coming.

But which are the five moves, we expect to happen today?

Clint Dempsey: Fulham to Liverpool

Despite the fact that the American forward has attracted interest from top clubs like Liverpool and Arsenal, he not yet finalised a move. The 29-year-old has been exempted from the Fulham squads that have played two Premier League games. His transfer should go through today.

Cheik Tiote/Yohan Cabaye: Newcastle to Arsenal

The London club has made enquiries about both players, as Wenger tries to bolster his midfield. It is impossible that he will try to get both, but the French manager, is likely to get at least one. Ivorian newspapers have even carried reports already that Tiote seems like the likely player to make the move and the deal is almost done.

Dimitar Berbatov: Manchester United to Fulham

With the arrival of Robin van Persie, who seems to have even relegated Wayne Rooney to the bench, the Bulgarian striker just had to leave. At some point this week, it appeared as if he was all set to join either Fiorentina or Juventus, but the former Tottenham Hotspurs player, eventually snubbed both Italian teams. He has already had his medicals at the London club, where he will reunited with Martin Jol.

Nicklas Bendtner: Arsenal to Juventus

It is no secret that Arsene Wenger has been desperate to get rid of the big Dane all summer. The 24-year-old spent all of last season on loan at Sunderland  and is set to complete yet another one-year loan deal to current Serie A champions, Juventus, after AC Milan completed deals for Niang and Krcic Bojan.

Michael Essien: Chelsea to  Arsenal

Just yesterday, several football sites revealed that Arsene Wenger, was trying to replace Alex Song, with Michael Essien. Although the Ghanaian is available for a cut-price deal that will cost £8m, the Gunners manager is looking to strike a smiliar deal that brought Yossi Benayoun to the Emirates, last season.

I don't want Essien too o, but who knows... And I doubt that baba will pay 100, 000 per week. Well my believe is that baba dey do one badt transfer somewhere and he is trying to divert media attention.
