I believe that, at the very least, I deserved to be informed and carried along,” Tilde wrote.He said the episode, along with other experiences, made it impossible for him to continue serving effectively. “I cannot continue in a position where I feel that there is little regard for my contributions or for the relationship between us,” he stated.Tilde emphasized that any working relationship in politics and public service should rest on mutual respect, communication, trust and recognition of each other’s roles. “Unfortunately, I no longer feel that these principles exist in our working relationship,” he added.Describing the resignation as “the most honourable decision” open to him, Tilde said he was leaving with a clear conscience after giving his best in the role. He thanked the senator for the opportunity to serve and wished him success going forward.
