PRESIDENT Goodluck Jonathan has lamented that terrorists have brought mayhem to the country and other parts of the world and called on all citizens to unite to resist the Boko Haram insurgency in the country.

He spoke on Thursday near Eagle Square, Abuja, where he received members of #BringBackOurGirls, the organised campaign to free the girls abducted by the insurgents in Government Girls Secondary School, Chibok, Borno State.

The activists had originally planned to storm the Presidential Villa, but were stopped by a massive police personnel led by the FCT Commissioner of Police, Joseph Mbu, beside Eagle Square, Abuja.

The procession had begun with a large crowd, all wearing red, at the Unity Fountain, Abuja, with Mrs Oby Ezekwesili, leading

When they were barred from proceeding to the Villa, the protesters decided to sit on the ground and refused to listen to pleas from the SGF, Chief Anyim.

President Jonathan, in his address read by Minister of State for FCT, Chief Jumoke Akinjide, said “our present world is under the grip of terrorism.
