Pastor arrested in Ogun State for Raping Member during Prayer Session

The Ogun State Police Command has arrested a 37-year-old pastor of a Cherubim and Seraphim Church in Odogbolu Local Government Area of the state for allegedly raping a 32-year-old lady inside the church.

The victim, whose identity the police did not disclose, alleged that the pastor was in a prayer session with her when he asked her to hold on to some candle sticks and suddenly forcefully pulled off her wrapper before he eventually had unlawful carnal knowledge of her.

The state’s Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Muyiwa Adejobi, said the victim and her relations later reported the matter to the police and anti-crime team attached to Odogbolu Division.

He said, “Medical reports so far received on the matter confirmed that the pastor actually committed the offence and he has since confessed to the crime. The matter will soon be charged to court.

“The matter is presently at the anti- Human Trafficking and Child Labour unit of the Department of Criminal Investigation, Abeokuta.” - Nigerianeye
