Misapplication of N19.2bn: Reps say Ministry of Works has case to answer

THE House of Representatives Committee on Anti-Corruption, Ethics and Values has invited the Ministry of Works over alleged misapplication of N19.2 billion released for various road projects across the country.

It was reliably gathered that the committee invited the ministry two weeks ago, with no response received from the officials till date.

According to a source close to the committee, several petitions were sent alleging that funds allocated to the ministry almost two years ago were deliberately misapplied.

Documents made available to Vanguard clearly indicated that N18.2bn was allocated to the ministry in the first quarter of 2013.

Subsequently, another N1, 055, 447,608.16 was allocated to the ministry to quickly put finishing touches to the various projects across Nigeria.
