Breastfeeding in Public

So an Argentine politician, Victoria Donda Perez publicly breastfed her hungry 8 months old daughter while she was attending an Argentine National Congress Meeting and this has sparked up a conversation on public breastfeeding. Now here’s my take:


I don’t have a problem with a mother breastfeeding her baby. As a matter of fact, I believe breastfeeding is the most natural act in the world and babies can get quite fussy and cranky when they’re hungry, sleepy or need a change of diaper but I’m going to ask Victoria Donda Perez and anyone who supports her act one simple question, “If your baby was cranky due to a dirty diaper (poop) while you are at the same function, would you go ahead and change your baby’s diaper in the presence of everyone?”

Let’s be honest, yes, breastfeeding is a natural act but even nature has its own course which is why it doesn’t snow in the desert. So I say If you really cannot change your baby’s poop at the National Congress, what makes you think it is okay to bring out a sensitive part of your body in the presence of a lot of people at such an important gathering because you wanted to feed your baby especially when there are over five different ways you could have done it. I mean there are breastfeeding covers being sold in the market at affordable prices and as an Argentine politician, I am pretty sure she can afford it. I mean look at that picture, there was a bib and washcloth on the table and even her jacket that she could have used to cover up but of course she chose not to.
