EFCC Docks Alleged Notorious Abuja Land Scammers

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) yesterday arraigned an alleged notorious land scammer, Ibrahim Mohammed Kamba, before an Abuja High Court sitting in Apo for attempting to obtain the title documents of the property situated and located at plot 307 B05 Utako District from the Federal Capital Territory Administration under false pretence.

Although Kamba was to be arraigned alongside Ibrahim Mohammed Bashir and Barrister Steve Imokhe, they were not in court.

But Abdulamid Mohammed, lawyer to Imokhe, informed the court that his client’s inability to appear for the day’s proceedings was as a result of his health challenge as he was receiving treatment in the hospital.

But Mohammed Bashir was neither present in court nor represented by a counsel.

Prosecution counsel, C.O Ugwu, asked the court to grant him leave to prefer separate charges against Kamba and issue bench warrant against the other two accused who deliberately refused to appear in court for the arraignment.

Consequently, Justice A. B Mohammed issued a bench warrant to compel Mohammed Bashir to appear before him on the next adjourned date of January 23 and directed the prosecution to confirm the veracity or otherwise of the claim of the health challenge of Imokhe.
