Reason for Murder? Wifes Butches Husband to death for trying to marry 2nd wife

Olowakemi Etu, a mother of three, hacked her husband with a cutlass, while he was sleeping in their Erinlu abode in Ijebu-Ode area of Ogun State, out of jealousy over his relationship with another woman.

Etu, who is in custody at Obalende Police Division in Ijebu-Ode, said during interrogation that she bought the cutlass two weeks earlier, waiting for the appropriate time to use it. It was gathered that her husband, Kehinde Etu, had been in a relationship with a woman and had also been staying away from home. Family sources revealed that Kemi, as she is popularly called, confronted her husband on the matter. He owned up, informing her of his decision to marry the woman.

It was learned that she lured her husband to their house located at 19, Tunwase Drive, Erinlu, last Saturday and prepared his best meal. Kehinde was said to have eaten the meal, made love with his wife and later slept off. That was when she reportedly brought out the machete and hacked him until he became unconscious.
