« on: January 31, 2013, 01:47:05 pm »
Julius Berger Nigeria Plc said on Tuesday in Lagos that it would move to site for the second phase of the Oshodi-Apapa Expressway in the first week of February. An authoritative source with the company said that the Federal Government has awarded the contract to the construction firm.

The Minister of State for Works, Bashir Yuguda, had on January 17 inspected the road. “We have received the letter of award of the contract and we are already mobilising fully to site. In the first week of February work will begin,” the source said.

He said the company has started moving its equipment to site ahead of the flag off of the rehabilitation, stating that work will begin from Sanya Bus Stop to Cele Bus Stop on the Oshodi side.

He also said from the Apapa side work would begin from Kilo Bus Stop to Trinity Bus Stop spanning about 8.2 km. The contract was expected to be completed within 18 months.
