International Women's Day 2013 - What do we want from Nigerian Women?

(1/1)

olutee:
The world will mark on Friday (today), 8 March the International Working Women's Day. The first national Women's Day was observed on 28 February 1909 in the United States following a declaration by the Socialist Party of America.[2] In August 1910, an International Women's Conference was organized to precede the general meeting of the Socialist Second International in Copenhagen. Inspired in part by the American socialists, German Socialist Luise Zietz proposed the establishment of an annual 'International Woman's Day' (singular) and was seconded by communist Clara Zetkin, although no date was specified at that conference.

In different regions the focus of the celebrations ranges from general celebration of respect, appreciation and love towards women to a celebration for women's economic, political and social achievements.

We would like to localize this world ceremony day and ask ourselves what do we want/need/expect from our Nigeria females - young or old?

Nigeria is spreading into diverse ways with culture and reliogion fighting civilisation and we fight everyday to retain the dignity of what is left of our culture.

Personally, i would like to see
1. A more decent Nigeria women, understanding the beauty and power of a woman within the home and the environment
2. I will like to see a Government that recognizes that women are as important to the society as men
3. I would like to see Women protecting their homes than borrowing the western culture and taking light of thier marriages
4. I would like to see a better valued woman society as a whole

What do you want for the Nigeria Women?
