Are we Really Fighting Corruption in Nigeria?
(1/1)
flukky01:
The United States, yesterday, dismissed Nigeria’s war against corruption alleging “massive widespread and pervasive corruption affected all levels of government and the security forces”
I mean for those of us inside the country, we know this is not news because corruption is like a legume under everybody's cloth, It has run deep into the souls of the Nigerian Populace.
One or few examples caught Ibori, Ehindero, Subsidy probe but even "a typical Nigerians" calls their ordeal a mistake meaning they are not wise enough with the stealing or looting.
The question is are we actually fighting corruption in Nigeria? For me, If we have tried, I think we have not started.
olutee:
Nope we are not...at least to the best of what i know...
The scenario is simple
A government Officer (Minister, Politician, Rep) steals our money
We set up a Panel to probe the Officer
Some people in the Panel collect bribe
We setup Anti-Corruption committee to probe the probe panel
then someone in the new Anti-Corruption committee collects bribe from the main officer
and then at deadlock
The same officer under investigation is appointed as head of another Anti-Probe panel
This Nigeria politics is just twisted, so twisted that it sucks.
