Man burnt to death in Ebonyi State; Seun Kuti, others react

As the police begins investigation to ascertain and arrest all those who participated in the killing of Emmanuel Nwegwe who was accused of murdering his relative, many have taken to Twitter remembering ALLU4 victims who were murdered in similar circumstances on 5 October 2012.

An angry mob burnt Nwegwe to death last week after he reportedly shot Innocent Onu, 54, at Umunaga village in Uburu community of Ohaozara Local government area of Ebonyi state.

According to reports, the Ebonyi state police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Sylvester Igbo who condemned the manner in which the deceased was allegedly killed by the youths of the area, stressed that they had no right to take laws into their hands since the case was still under investigation by the police.
