Over N150m Fake Drugs intercepted in Kano

Kano State Task Force Committee has intercepted fake consumables and drugs worth N150million at Abubakar Rimi Market.

Speaking to journalists  on the development yesterday , the state commissioner for health, Dr. Abubakar l Yusuf,  restated government readiness to continue the fight against sales and consumption of fake and counterfeit drugs.

Labaran also decried increasing rate of drugs abuse among youths, adding that government is fully committed to arrest the flow and circulation of such drugs in the state.

He urged all meaning, business groups and parents to join the crusade to end the practice which is perpetrated by ill-mind individuals, urging all and sundry to compliment government effort in this direction.

He commended the members of the task force committee for their zeal and commitment to ride the state out of fake and adulterated drugs.

Speaking earlier, the chairman task force committee, the Director Pharmaceutical Service of the ministry, Mr. Ali Adamu,  said the drugs was found in one of  the residential area in Sabon Gari area in Abeokuta road in Kano.
