Two men arrainged for stealing Nestle products N7.8m

A 35-year-old man, John Ikhana and one other, Augustine Emenim, 30, were yesterday arrainged before a Lagos Magistrate Court, sitting in Ikeja, for allegedly stealing the sum of N7.8million, belonging MDS Logistics Company.

The defendants and others at large, who were docked before Magistrate Miss Akinde, are facing a two count charge of conspiracy and stealing.

The police prosecutor Chinalu Uwadione, told the court that the defendants committed the alleged offence on April 25, 2013, at about 10am, at Oregun in Ikeja area of Lagos.

He claimed that the accused stole Nestle products worth N7,800,000. Uwadione said that the crime committed is punishable under section 409 and 285 of the criminal laws of Lagos state of Nigeria 2011.

However when the charges preferred against the defendants were read to them, the defendants whose residential address is at 17 Musa Adewokan street in   Ojota area of Lagos and Isebo in   Ibadan, respectively,pleaded not guilty to the two count charges.

Magistrate Akinde granted them bail in the sum of N 1million with two sureties in like sum. She adjourned the matter to July 23, 2013, for mention.
