Ogun Vigilante Vs Robbers fight Continue - 4 Members Die including Civilians

Armed Robbers at the weekend shot dead four members of the Ogun State Vigilance Service for daring to foil their robbery operations at a petrol station in the state.

The incident occurred at Guinea Gold Petrol Station at Onihale village in Ifo Local Government Area located along Abeokuta-Lagos road.

The robbers are said to have arrived the fuel station at about 8.30pm after parking their vehicle few metres to the fuel station.

However, following earlier tip off, a team of members of the vigilante service had laid siege for the armed robbers.

But the team’s plan was also leaked to the robbers by a suspected insider at the fuel station, who passed the information through a telephone contact.

On arrival, the robbers opened fire on the eight vigilante members who were equally battle ready for them, but four members of the team died during the clash.

Sensing danger, as four other members of the vigilance engaged them in fierce battle, the robbers took to their heels and were unable to carry out their operations.

A female attendant was also killed in the shooting.

When contacted, the Public Relations Officer of the Ogun State Vigilance Service, Soji Ganzallo confirmed the incident, lamenting the loss of four of the service officials. - PreiumTimes
