Masquerade Stabs Man To Death In Enugu

Tension has heightened in Umuofiagu Ukehe community in Igbo-Etiti local government area of Enugu State following the brutal murder of a native of the area by a masquerade. LEADERSHIP Weekend gathered that the masquerade stabbed the deceased identified as Emma Nnamani, who is said to be about 60 years old, on his lower abdomen for an unknown reason. A release made available to LEADERSHIP Weekend by the Enugu State Police Command, Ebere Amaraizu, said the command had commenced investigations into the incident. “It was gathered that the masquerade later identified to have been led by one Chinedu Iyioke of the same community on 27/6/13 allegedly stabbed one Emma Nnamani who is said to be about 60 years old on the lower abdomen for a yet to be identified reason. “Victim was however rushed to Elechi Hospital for medical attention but later died in the hospital.” Meanwhile, the body of the deceased has been deposited at a mortuary for autopsy just as the said Chinedu Iyioke, the man behind the masquerade, “has been nabbed by security operatives and is now helping the police in their investigations.”
