Boko Haram Fight - We do not have a Cease Fire Order Yet - JTF

Defence Headquarters in Abuja, yesterday, said the ceasefire agreement signed between Federal Government and the Boko Haram sect had not been communicated to it.

Consequently, Director of Defence Information, Brigadier-General Chris Olukolade, said the military operation to rid the North-East part of the country of terrorists would continue.

Olukolade noted that the issue of ceasefire was the outcome of the political element of the attempt to solve the Boko Haram crisis, adding that questions on the ceasefire should be directed to the political authority.

He said: "As for the operational aspect, it will be maintained. So far, there has been no directive to stop the operation. We will not succumb to any deception whether ceasefire or not until otherwise directed by government."
