Van Persie - I joined Man Utd to play with Rooney so He Cant Leave NOW

Manchester United striker Robin van Persie insists everyone at the club wants Wayne Rooney to stay this summer.

Goal exclusively revealed on Thursday that the England international, who continues to push for a move to Chelsea, has been ordered to train with United's reserves by David Moyes.

The 27-year-old was also left “angry and confused” at public comments from Moyes which suggested he would be considered as a back-up to Van Persie. The United boss has since clarified his comments to the striker.

Van Persie believes Rooney "will come good again" and revealed one of his reasons for leaving Arsenal in August 2012 was to play alongside the England international.

"Everyone wants Wayne to stay and deep down I think he feels the same," Van Persie told The Sun.
