The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has on Wednesday reaffirmed the full enforcement of speed limiters, which will kick start on June 1, 2015.

This is just as FRSC expressed worry over increased rate of death from inadequate child restraint in vehicles in the country.

Speaking in Abuja at the joint kick-off campaign on the use of Appropriate Car Restraints for children, in partnership with the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), Corp Marshal of the FRSC, Boboye Oyeyemi, who identified speed limit violation as another cause of road traffic crashes, said this is a menace that needs to be addressed.

The Corps Marshal, who spoke through Charles Theophileus, Deputy Corps Marshal, Motor Vehicle Administration, disclosed that about 39 per cent of road traffic crashes recorded between January and August 2014 was due to speed limit violation.
