Bayelsa PDP Lauds Tinubu, Supreme Court, Wike as Democracy Defenders
The Bayelsa State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has praised President Bola Tinubu, the Supreme Court of Nigeria, and FCT Minister Nyesom Wike for their commitment to democracy. According to the PDP acting chairman, George Turnah, these individuals have demonstrated courage and boldness in upholding democratic principles.The party also commended Rivers State lawmakers, PDP national secretary Senator Samuel Anyanwu, and PDP South-South zonal chairman Chief Dan Orbih for their efforts to protect democracy, particularly in Rivers State.Turnah, who described President Tinubu as a beacon of courage, said his leadership has been pivotal in defending democracy in Rivers State.He said, “His steadfast courage in the face of adversity, coupled with his bold political will, has proven essential following the Supreme Court’s revelation that Rivers State was devoid of democratic governance. President Tinubu’s unwavering stance emphasizes the need for integrity in governance and serves as a reminder of the responsibilities that come with leadership.”Turnah said the Supreme Court has been the guardian of justice, stressing that its decisive role in upholding the integrity and independence of the judiciary in a democratic context is refreshing.
