Mike Ejiofor, a former Director of the Department of State Services (DSS), has raised alarm over the escalating insecurity in Nigeria, attributing over 80% of the nation’s security challenges to political motivations. In an interview on Arise News, Ejiofor warned that premature campaigns and political alignments for the 2027 general elections, still nearly two years away, are exacerbating threats to national security.Ejiofor called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to take decisive action against political parties, including the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and the African Democratic Congress (ADC), for initiating campaign activities ahead of schedule.
