Gov. Dikko Radda reshuffles cabinet, appoints new commissioners
Dikko Radda, governor of Katsina, has reshuffled his cabinet
with the redeployment of some commissioners and fresh appointments. The cabinet reshuffle was announced in a statement released
by Ibrahim Kaula Mohammed, chief press secretary (CPS) to the governor, on
Friday. Mohammed said the rejig is “aimed at repositioning the
administration for improved service delivery and optimal performance across key
sectors”. Ahmad Muhammad Bakori was redeployed from the ministry of
agriculture and livestock development to the newly created ministry of
livestock development. Aliyu Lawal Zakari, the former commissioner of youth and
sports development, will now head the ministry of agriculture. Zainab Musa Musawa, a former commissioner of basic and
secondary education, was transferred to ministry of special duties, while Yusuf
Suleiman Jibia takes over as commissioner for basic and secondary education. Surajo Yazid Abukur was appointed commissioner for youth and
sports development, while Adnan Nahabu was appointed commissioner for higher,
vocational and technical education. Hajiya Aisha Aminu, former director-general of the Katsina
State Enterprise Development Agency, was appointed to head the ministry of
women affairs.. The Katsina governor appointed Hadiza Abubakar Yar’adua as
special adviser on nutrition and welfare services and Isa Muhammad Musa as
special adviser on cultural orientation.
