Tottenham broke Arsenal hearts when they clinched a Champions League spot last season, but now four Gunners outcasts can exact revenge on Spurs.

Marseille have the opportunity to dump Antonio Conte’s side out of the competition when they host the north London outfit on Tuesday night.

A win would see Marseille qualify for the knockout stages at the expense of Spurs.

Meanwhile a draw will see Tottenham into the Round of 16, with a victory ensuring they would top Group D.

Failure to secure at least a point could see Spurs drop into the Europa League where they could face Arsenal in the latter stages of the tournament.

And not only will Tottenham be without boss Conte following his red card in the 1-1 draw against Sporting Lisbon, but they will be up against four Gunners.

Alexis Sanchez, Matteo Guendouzi and Sead Kolasinac are all on the books at Marseille, with Nuno Tavares on a season-long loan from the Emirates.

And Arsenal fans may see it as poetic justice if their former stars put on a show against Spurs to knock them out of the Champions League.

All four players could be in action at the Stade Velodrome, with Spurs fans to surely be fearful of another Sanchez masterclass against them.

The two-time Copa America winner has scored three goals against Spurs from his time at Arsenal and Manchester United.

And in a good omen for Marseille, Sanchez has never been on the losing side in a game in which he has scored against Spurs.

Sanchez, who missed the away trip to Tottenham last month through suspension, is Marseille’s top scorer with six strikes in all competitions.

And Guendouzi and Tavares have each scored three goals with the pair proving to be a huge attacking threat in the final third.

Marseille have won at home just once in the last two months, with Spurs going into the meeting as the heavy favourites.

But the visitors are unlikely to have a full strength team with Richarlison, Dejan Kulusevski and Cristian Romero all missing training on Monday.

The Ligue 1 giants will be buoyed by Spurs’ five-goal thriller against Bournemouth on Saturday where they snatched victory from the claws of defeat.

Conte’s side were regularly exposed by the Cherries, with Marseille confident they too can exploit the space left in behind from the likes of Emerson Royal and Ryan Sessegnon.

And you wouldn’t put it past the likes of Sanchez and Guendouzi turning up with the pair big-game players who thrive in these sort of occasions.

It would be a bitter blow for Spurs if they somehow finish third, and even more so if it’s an ex-Arsenal man that delivers the crushing blow.
