Taking inspiration from his beloved European champions West Ham, Danny Dyer has shown he’s got plenty to offer on the football pitch.

The iconic actor will be taking part in Soccer Aid on Sunday – live on talkSPORT – for the England team, and defenders will have to be wary of balls landing to him in their box.

Dyer showed off his skill in training for the match with an exceptional Zlatan Ibrahimovic-esque acrobatic volley into the top left corner of the goal.

It was a goal his daughter’s partner Jarrod Bowen would be proud of after the Hammers winger scored their winner in Wednesday’s Europa Conference League final win over Fiorentina.

The Mean Machine star was then mobbed by Usain Bolt, Chunkz and Tom Grennan, before plenty of Twitter users went after talkSPORT host Simon Jordan.

One wrote: “What’s your thoughts on this @Sjopinion10?”

Meanwhile plenty of other users simply tagged Jordan in the comment section.

And this fan quipped: “Fair play much improved from Mean Machine.”

Former Crystal Palace owner Jordan had previously said of the Eastenders icon: “Danny Dyer is the worst footballer that God ever put breath into.”

Dyer hit back in typical fashion on Thursday, telling talkSPORT: “It is interesting with Simon because a couple of people sent me this thing where he dug me out. I don’t know why.

“I don’t know what’s the matter with him, he said I am the worst football player that God has ever put breath into or something.

“He went on to tell this story on how I played for his team once in Soccer Six and I thought, ‘well, I’ve never met you’. So that is interesting.

“Then he went on to call me the poor man’s Ray Winstone, which I’ll take. So I am a bit confused with him really.

“He has said some stuff which I quite agree with but I don’t like snobs. And he is the worst kind of snob because he has forgotten where he came from.

“He is an angry man with long words. He loves a little hankie in his pocket. One of them nuts!

“It is a shame really because I love the man but he is a very angry man.”
